Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Digital Ruble Law and launched an electronic platform for Russian digital currency in August. Recently, the State Duma adopted a new law establishing the digital ruble and conducting financial transactions with it. The digital ruble in Russia will become the third reserve for the national currency along with the monetary and virtual ruble.

The digital ruble will be created mainly as another means of payments and transfers, so it will not be possible to open a deposit or get a loan with it, and no interest will be calculated on balances in digital wallets. The digital ruble is a special token that will be stored in an e-wallet and is set to become a complete means of payment, along with the regular ruble.
